Father George Coyne, head of the Vatican Observatory, held a speech in October 2001 about the sacred cows of religion and science. I couldn't find an online transcript, but there are two realplayer videos ( Part 1, Part 2) of the speech.

Sarah first gave me a paper transcript of this speech because she was highly impressed both with the man and with what he had to say. I agree. If you've ever wondered about how science and religion can peacefully coexist, I think it's worth taking the time (50 minutes) to watch the two clips.
