:: If you have even a slight unix background, you know the community's preference for program names which are weird puns - yacc, yet another compiler compiler, or it's GNU equivalent bison. The file pager more, and it's more powerfull successor less. Or the widely availabe bash, the bourne again shell, which is the successor of the Bourne shell sh. And that's just a few examples. But I didn't realize until now that the java community comes from the same breed:

They put their libraries in jars.
